Event Detail
Heading: Inaugural Community Photo Scanning Day
Start Date: Jun 5, 2010 Location:  Richardson Public Library
Start Time: 10 AM End Time:  2 PM
Description:

What is it? --As time passes much of Richardson's near past is lost. This event is an opportunity to preserve your photographs and other Richardson related items and add them to Preservation Richardson's small but growing portfolio of Richardson memorabilia and online virtual museum.

What will we do? --We will take your photographs, sports programs, brochures, and other printed material related to Richardson and digitally scan it for preservation and we will catalog it in our online virtual museum.

What do I bring? --Any photographs showing sights, events, sporting events, people, schools, parks, and streets of Richardson. Bring materials such as old sports or art event programs, letters to and from notable Richardson residents, or any other printed items that tell part of our story.

How do I know if it is worth saving? --Even simple photographs from decades past showing your family out and about in Richardson might be a valuable contribution worth preserving. If you don't know, just ask us! We can help evaluate what you have.

What is Preservation Richardson? --Preservation Richardson is a new non-profit organization dedicated to preserving artifacts, photographs, items, and information from our rich Richardson history. We aim to preserve the memories of past Richardson and create a lasting legacy for the future.

We are now accepting charter memberships to help create the foundation for future work. For more information, see our website or
